The new standard in audio descriptions for people
who are deaf, blind, or who live with a visual impairment.
As of Summer 2012, the US Federal Government and the 21st Century Communications & Video Accessibility Act Of 2010, requires all market broadcast affiliates of the top four national networks, and cable television operators, DBS providers, and digital media affiliates to provide video programming with audio narrated descriptions of a video program’s key visual elements.
We at ClearSteam MG, are the industry leaders currently providing the necessary expertise, manpower, and technology to create new and life changing video entertainment for the deaf, blind, and visually impaired.
This presents a fantastic and untapped revenue stream for Production Studios, Television Producers, Post-Production, and Digital Media Producers.
Strongly consider ClearStream Media Group’s AudioSight services and our team of elite industry professionals for all of your Audio Description needs.
Welcome to the world of audio-description. AudioSight is post-production process which provides an audio supplement to the visual content of movies, television, and digital media. Using natural pauses between dialogue, without intruding on the selected music and sound effects, audio-description now makes media accessible to millions of visually-impaired individuals.
Currently, there is very little being done to include visually impaired audiences in any media other than audiobooks. Too often, the only information given to these individuals is a distraction from what is occurring, rather than seamlessly complementing the artists’ intentions.
Our team believes audio-description is an art form in itself. Any Artist needs to be aware of the different needs and tastes of their audience. In some cases, a detailed description of the visuals serves the purpose. In other cases, the descriptive words chosen (or “word pictures”) and the performance of the Narrator must naturally convey the intentions of a scene.
Our greatest challenge is to make sure our work is accessible to the greatest possible audience. Of the 25 million visually-impaired Americans, only 20 percent are totally blind. Like all Americans, the visually-impared audience share the same diversity of distinct educational, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds. Our goal as Artists is to find an ideal collaborative role as a story-telling partner, to make the work accessible to people who live with a visual impairment to do what many of us take for granted.
“Clear Stream’s AudioSight offers the vision impaired an unprecedented emotional
and intellectual connection to filmed media, vastly enhancing
and heightening their current entertainment experience.”
